Your audience has 2 related views. Responses shows individual submissions. Contacts shows the people identified by an email address on the selected page.
Open Audience, then switch between Contacts and Responses depending on the question you need to answer.
Choose the right view
| Question | Start in |
|---|---|
| What did this person submit? | Responses |
| Which new enquiries need attention? | Responses |
| Which person owns this email address? | Contacts |
| What has this person submitted before? | Contacts |
| Which submissions came from one Form? | Responses |
| Who intentionally subscribed to updates? | Contacts |
A Response remains a complete record even when the person did not provide an email. A Contact is created only when a submission provides a valid email address.
Screenshot to add: Audience Contacts and Responses views
Capture both Audience views using the same fictional creator data. Show one Contact with an email address and the matching Response that created it, with the Contacts and Responses navigation visible in both states.
Open: /app/contacts and /app/contacts/responses
Framing: Show the Audience view switcher, a small set of fictional rows, and the relationship between one Contact and its Response
Find and read a Response
Open Responses to see the newest submissions for the selected page.
Select a row to view the details someone submitted, including their answers and any recorded audio. Opening a new Response marks it as read.
Use the search and filter controls when you need to narrow the list by information such as the source Form, read state, or date. If a filtered view appears empty, clear the filters before assuming a submission is missing.
Screenshot to add: Response filters and open submission details
Capture the Responses view with the search field, Filter and sorting controls, one active Form or read-state filter, and an open fictional Response showing its submitted fields. Include the CSV export control if visible.
Open: /app/contacts/responses
Framing: Include the toolbar, the matching response rows, and the open response-details panel
Open a Contact’s history
Open Contacts and select a person to view the information associated with their email address.
Multiple submissions from the same email on the same page remain separate Responses but resolve to the same Contact. Contacts are page-specific, so the same email can appear independently on 2 different Reroute pages.
Use the Contact history to understand what someone has already submitted before you follow up. Do not assume they have agreed to marketing simply because their email is available.
Understand the Free history limit
Response capture is unlimited on every plan. Reroute does not stop collecting new submissions when your page receives more than 10.
Free keeps the newest 10 Responses and their related Contacts available to manage. Older history remains stored but becomes locked. New submissions stay available because the visible window follows the newest activity.
Creator unlocks full response and Contact history.
A locked row has not been deleted
Upgrading changes how much saved audience history you can view. It does not affect whether a visitor can submit a new response.
Export your audience on Creator
Creator can export Contacts and Responses as CSV files from their respective Audience views.
Use the Contacts export when you need a person-based list. Use the Responses export when you need individual submissions and the current response filters.
Before moving a list into another system, check the subscription status and consent associated with each person. A customer enquiry or free-download email is not automatically permission to send a newsletter.
Troubleshoot a missing record
The Response exists but there is no Contact. Check whether the submission included an email field. Phone-only and anonymous submissions do not create Contacts.
A Contact has more than one Response. That is expected when the same email is used repeatedly on the same page.
An older submission is locked. It is still stored. Creator unlocks full history and CSV export.
A row disappears after applying a filter. Clear the current source, date, read-state, or search filter and check the selected page.
For the rules that decide whether someone is subscribed, read Understand subscribers and consent.
