Lock or schedule a Block

Control who can open a Block and choose when it appears on your public page.

Updated 22 August 2026

A lock and a schedule answer different questions. A lock decides what a visitor must do before they can access a Block. A schedule decides whether the Block appears on your page at a particular time.

Open the page editor, choose the Block you want to control, and open its available settings.

Choose between a lock and a schedule

If you need toUse
Ask a visitor to confirm sensitive contentA sensitive-content lock
Check a visitor meets an age requirementA date-of-birth lock
Share content only with people who know a codeA code lock
Open content after someone subscribesA subscribers-only lock
Collect an email before revealing contentAn email-to-unlock lock
Show a Block only after a launch timeA scheduled start
Remove a Block automatically after an offer endsA scheduled expiry

Block locks are available on both Free and Creator. Block scheduling is a Creator feature.

Set up a visitor lock

Open the Block’s Lock tool, then select Set up lock. Choose the requirement that matches the content.

You can use more than one requirement on the same Block. When several requirements are active, visitors must satisfy each relevant one before the content opens.

Capture the Lock dialog for a fictional Link Block with Sensitive content, Date of birth, Code, Subscribers only, and Email to unlock visible. Enable one useful example and show the associated explanation field or configuration.

Open: /app/page

Framing: Include the selected Block, the Lock dialog, and enough of the public preview to explain the protected destination

Sensitive content and age checks

Use Sensitive content when a visitor should acknowledge a content warning before continuing.

Use Date of birth when the destination has a minimum age requirement. Available minimum ages are 13, 16, 18, and 21.

Keep any explanation specific. Tell the visitor what they are confirming and why it matters.

Access codes

Use Code when you want to share a destination with people who already received a code.

Choose a code that is at least 4 characters long, then share it separately with the intended audience. Reroute does not display an existing saved code again. If you no longer know it, set a replacement.

Subscribers and email capture

Use Subscribers only when the visitor should intentionally join your updates before opening the content.

Use Email to unlock when you need an email address for the specific exchange but are not asking the visitor to subscribe to marketing updates.

Those 2 choices create different kinds of intent. Capturing an email address does not, by itself, make someone a subscriber. Read Understand subscribers and consent before deciding which one is appropriate.

Protect the whole page when needed

The profile header can also carry a lock. A lock on an ordinary Block protects only that Block. A lock on the profile header applies before a visitor can view the page.

Use a page-wide lock only when the entire page genuinely needs the same requirement. If one destination is sensitive, protecting that individual Block usually keeps the rest of the page easier to use.

Schedule a Block

On Creator, open the Block’s Schedule controls and set a publish time, an expiry time, or both.

  • A publish time keeps the Block hidden until that time arrives.
  • An expiry time hides the Block once the selected time passes.
  • Setting both creates a window during which the Block is visible.

Dates and times are chosen in your local time zone. Check the selected day carefully when coordinating a campaign with people elsewhere.

Screenshot to add: Block Schedule with a launch and expiry time

Capture a fictional Link or Digital Product Block with its Schedule settings open, a future publish date and time, a later expiry date and time, and the Creator requirement visible if shown by the product.

Open: /app/page

Framing: Show both date-and-time sections, the selected Block, and its current preview visibility

An out-of-window Block is absent from the public page. Visitors do not see a lock, countdown, or message they can use to bypass the schedule.

A schedule can coexist with a lock. The Block first needs to be inside its visible time window, then the visitor completes any active lock requirements.

Test what a visitor experiences

  1. Open the public page in a private browser window.
  2. Find the Block or confirm it is correctly hidden by its schedule.
  3. Complete each active visitor requirement.
  4. Confirm the final destination opens.
  5. Check Audience if the lock asked for an email or subscription.

For general Block setup and ordering, return to Choose and arrange your Blocks.
